Indroducing Nancy's Knits!

Hope the holidays have been great for everyone, this year has gone by so fast! Summer flew by in the yard and garden. Before you know it we will be through winter and well into spring. Two months ago my daughter delivered my very first grandchild, a beautiful little girl. She is an angel, I couldn't be more thrilled.

I have some other very exciting news to tell you about. We are carrying a new line at Dog Gone Stamps, it's called Nancy's Knits. It is a specialty boutique with the cutest ever hand knit items. Only the finest wools and yarns are used. Every piece is hand knit with special attention to detail and love in every stitch. They are all one of a kind so get them fast!

Here is a painting I did of our Zen Frog stamp. Here is a link to the Stamp :) After painting more and more of the stamps, they are a great starting point. Go nuts on them, paint (color) outside the lines/over the lines/etc! :) See it larger on the home page.

Hey, TGIF everyone! Thought I would drop a line to say hello, and post a couple things I have been working on. Here is a quick painting I did using one of our stamps. This is our Owl stamp, under Stamps -> Characters -> Owl PN: pl002-6s.

This one is just a practice painting I did. Trying to get better at lighting and light effects :)

New Stamp Release,

Enjoy the Ride!

We are happy to announce our new stamp release! We hope you all like the new stamps, and they are something you can use in your creations. For the next 3 weeks we will be spotlighting 3 of our Stamp Release designers Lisa Foust, Sandra MacLean, and Nancy Torfin. They have made wonderful cards for our release using our new stamps. We will feature each of their works each week. We also have 3 great blog prizes up for grabs! All you need to do to be entered to win the weeks prize is comment on at least one of the cards each week! Your definitely not limited to just one comment, but names will only be entered once each week :) At the end of each week we will enter all the peoples names who commented and pick a random winner!

Jana Mays

Jana has been a great help to us throughout our first year in business. She has been on all of our Design teams and has all but ran our group on PCP. I love her sentiments, she writes better sentiments for our images than I do :) (I actually have plans to use some of them once we create a sentiment release)! Her creations are always full of great humor and I have loved every thing she has created using our stamps. Jana is very talented and we wouldn't be here without her!

Sandra MacLean

From the Designer:
I typically use my SU and Distress Ink reinkers with my aquapainter brush to watercolor my images. Because the rubber sentiment is quite flexible, I straightened it up on my acrylic block and stamped it out next to the skateboarding dude. The papers are from My Minds Eye and the adhesive pearls are from Kaisercrafts. I like to machine stitch around my cards to help pull it all together.

Lisa Foust

From the Designer:
I started with stamping the image (Free entertainment) on some Neenah white paper. Colored Free Entertainment with my copic markers - greys (black is way too black). I then put together the card using some Basic Grey Origins paper (from the 6x6 paper pack). When it was done, I needed a little bit more, so I stamped the sentiment above the dogs using some PTI Fresh snow ink - it' s one of the best "white" inks I have found.

Here are the first weeks cards! Each of our release designers are wonderful beyond words, and there isn't enough I can say to express that, though I have tried :) I think their designs will speak for themselves!

Lisa Foust

Lisa is a great designer and has also been on all of our design teams so far. She is always willing to help and her enthusiasm has picked me up, and got me working again, more than once. All of her designs are very clean and her choice of design papers always compliment the stamps and the message she is sending. With a great eye for color and use of embellishments her cards are always a treat!

Sandra MacLean

When I first saw some of Sandra's work I knew I wanted to get her to be on at least one of our design teams, and as many more as I could talk her into :) Sandra's cards are always excellently designed. I love her use of design paper and her coloring is brilliant! I have found I like her coloring of our images over mine many times, and the cards she made for this release are no exception.

Nancy Torfin

Not only is she the owner and founder of DogGoneStamps, she's also a designer! :) Here is a card by Nancy using the Singing Skateboarder stamp. I have a stack of her cards, and this one is going to be added to the collection.

Well, February whizzed by and we are already a week into March. Some of my flowers started poking their little heads up in the garden, but when I looked out this morning, snow was covering my world again. I guess Spring is going to have to wait a little longer.
